Our client, a boutique civil engineering consultancy in Woodbridge, is seeking a Civil Engineer/Technologist with 4+ years’ experience in the land development industry. This is a permanent, full-time position, paying between 70-110k per annum, with a hybrid/remote work model and strong benefits including extended health/dental insurance, RRSP matching, and 3-5 weeks’ vacation.
In this role, you will support the civil design component for a wide variety of projects. As a key member of the team and company, you will work together with staff and directly with clients on numerous active projects as well as opportunities to work directly with senior engineers and owners. Your primary responsibilities will be to provide technical support in drafting, design and report writing for:
Site plan design for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments
- The design of linear infrastructure including private and municipal roadways conveying storm water, sanitary, watermains and utilities
- Multi-lot subdivisions
- Municipal infrastructure, urban drainage, and stormwater management
- Preparation of technical reports, approvals, specifications, and calculations
Experience, Education, Skills:
- Graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years experience, preferably in the consulting industry
- Professional Designation (P.Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is valued but not necessary
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be highly proficient using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of municipal engineering and land development projects, focusing on civil design. The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge preparing CAD drawings for approvals and construction
- Extensive knowledge preparing site plans, functional servicing reports and stormwater management and construction management reports.
- Knowledge of subdivision design and construction administration.
- Extensive knowledge of local municipality standards, specifications, tendering and approvals process.
- Extensive knowledge of municipal sewer design in accordance with local policies and procedures.
- Experience being the main point of contact
- Proficient in the analysis, design and contract administration of water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer design, stormwater management and grading and drainage design.
