Our client, a boutique Alberta-based environmental consulting firm, is seeking an Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist to join their team in Calgary or Edmonton. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite position, offering base compensation of $100K+, depending on experience, along with a competitive vacation and total rewards package including group benefits, health spending and investment allowances along with flexible working hours.
The firm hiring has been in business for over 20 years, providing technical guidance for environmental regulatory compliance—they offer expertise in expertise in hydrogeological site assessments, remediation program design, risk assessment, industrial decommissioning, and site liability assessment. This is a technical lead level position with access to a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. The position requires the development and mentoring of a team in the execution of site and risk assessment programs.
Experience:
- Proficient in the application of environmental risk assessment modeling tools
- Current knowledge of environmental regulations (Alberta and Federal)
- Strong technical knowledge in hydrogeology and geochemistry
- Proficiency in data analysis, technical reporting, and client communication
- Proven positive record with provincial regulators regarding approved RMPs
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering or related discipline
- 7+ years relevant work experience in contaminated site assessment, regulatory guideline adjustment, and risk modeling
- Professional registration in Alberta
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada without restriction
