Our client, a design practice comprising architects, urban planners, interior designers, engineers and landscape architects, is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer out of their Toronto office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position, paying between 100-130k per annum, in addition to RRSP matching, parental leave top-up, competitive health and dental benefits, reimbursement of professional dues and generous vacation allowance.
How you'll make a difference:
- Acting?as a design engineer and project manager on a variety of building projects?of various sizes and?complexity.
- Following through all phases of projects from concept design?through construction.
- Being driven to provide the highest?technical?quality?in the?delivery?of designs,?drawings,?specifications, and in the field.
- Work with the firm’s robust Specifiers to develop construction specifications.
- Working?closely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms.
- Prepare contract documents to evaluate tenders.
- Building?relationships?of trust with clients and other outside agencies.
- Recruiting,?mentoring and enabling the next generation of structural engineers. Coach and review the work of more junior team members.
- Opportunity to manage projects while working with limited supervision and participate in project planning.
- Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design.
- Provide Contract Administration support for your projects.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s?Degree?in?Structural Engineering?is required,?Master’s?Degree is preferred?
- Registration as a Professional Engineer with?PEO or another provincial engineering association?
- 10+ years of experience?designing buildings is required
- LEED accreditation is considered an asset?
- An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients?
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects?
