Our client, a mechanical and electrical engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer for their Kingston, London or Kitchener office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position, paying approximately 90-130k, including paid vacation, profit sharing, professional development funding and extended health benefits. The successful candidate will have 8-10+ years’ experience in electrical design with a focus on building services.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design and draft drawings in AutoCAD and REVIT – electrical design requirements will include:
- Power distribution and generation systems
- Lighting (indoor and outdoor) and lighting control systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Voice/data communications, Security/CCTV systems, public address, nurse call, and related infrastructure
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and sales reps, preparing project documentation, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines,
- Conduct site visits/reviews and construction phase services
Required experience:
- Design experience in a variety of industry sectors such as: multi-unit residential, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Working knowledge of the OBC, OESC, and other referenced codes
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to be organized, multi-task and work under deadlines,
- Show good judgment and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment and share ideas
- Project management experience or a desire to grow into a project manager.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of electrical design experience in the building construction industry and at least 5 years design experience in Ontario.
- Pro-active approach to problem-solving and communicating with others
- Ability to multi-task and be organized, especially under the stress of deadlines
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective communicator
- Strong desire to work within a team and develop the skills of the team
- University degree in Electrical Engineering
