Our client, one of Canada’s oldest geotechnical engineering consulting firms, is seeking a Senior Project Manager within the Environmental Division (Ottawa Office). This is a full time, permanent position with a salary range of 100-150k, depending on experience along with a competitive overall compensation package.

The ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role should be capable of the following:
• Preparing technical designs, calculations, specifications and reports for a range of projects that may include Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remedial action plans, manage remedial programs along with Brownfield grant programs, and Record of Site Condition filing procedures.
• Acting as Qualified Person for excess soil programs and reuse sites.
• Understanding Brownfield redevelopment projects and project management associated with mid to complex level environmental remedial programs.
• Assisting with the acquisition of environmental permitting/approvals and development of mitigation and protection measures in accordance with environmental legislation and policy.
• Experience completing Designated Substance Surveys and Indoor Air Quality programs is an asset.
• Develop solutions with other senior personnel for complex design programs.
• Managing and coordinating environmental personnel for site assessments and remedial programs.
• Managing project budgets and invoices.
• Corresponding with clients and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Work independently and as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects, with the ability to stay within budget and meet deliverable deadlines.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of client relationships.
Qualifications:
• Bilingual (English/French) considered a strong asset to this position.
• Registered/licensed in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng.) or a Professional Geoscientist Ontario (P.Geo.), with a degree in related field of study (Environmental or Civil with an environmental component).
• Registered/licensed with Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec (OIQ) is considered an asset.
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, obtained in a consulting engineering environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws, regulations and standards as they apply to environmental and construction projects in Ontario (and other parts of Canada as applicable on a project basis). Specifically, Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19.
• Experience working with an O.Reg. 153/04 QPRA is considered an asset.
• Must be considered Qualified Person, as defined in Ontario Regulation 153/04.
• Strong technical understanding of environmental field data collection, instrumentation, monitoring and sampling techniques.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and manage cost-effective, practical solutions to client problems and/or potential non-compliance situations
• Strong ability to balance immediate and long-term work with varying priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with fee estimates, project billing activities, and budget tracking.
• Comfortable in both an office and field environment, depending upon assignment priorities.
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers.
• Exceptional organizational and writing skills.
• Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.

Physical Requirements
