Our client, a leading Canadian multi-disciplinary design firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Calgary. This is a permanent, full-time position, paying in the range of $100-150k, or more, depending on experience, plus a competitive vacation and benefits package including RRSP matching, performance bonus, access to a health spending account and reimbursement of training expenses and professional dues.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and execute complex structural engineering assignments with a high degree of autonomy.
- Modify established guidelines and develop new approaches to meet evolving project needs.
- Solve unique design and field engineering problems using innovative thinking.
- Recommend improvements to design standards that enhance quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate and manage mid-sized to large projects, ensuring they meet budget, schedule, and performance goals.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external agencies to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Prepare progress reports, cost estimates, and recommendations for design changes and payments.
- Mentor and guide team members through technical investigations and project execution.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to our company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community, integrating these principles into daily work practices and interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, or related field).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in an engineering role, ideally within a consulting environment.
- Strong command of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.
- Proven ability to lead projects and solve complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to structural design.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
