Our client, a multidisciplinary design and engineering firm with strong presence in Western Canada, is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based out of their Vancouver or Abbotsford office. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering a base salary commensurate with experience (85-115k), along with a competitive vacation and benefits package. This position will play a key role in structural design and calculations, preparing drawings and construction services.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures
- Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications
- Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provides technical support to designers and drafters
- Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors
- Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design
- Provide general project coordination services
- Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks
- Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.)
- Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- P.Eng or registered as an EIT
- Degree in Structural Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-starter and team player
- A valid driver's license
