Our client, a boutique consulting engineering firm in the GTA, is looking to add an experienced Civil Designer to their team. This is a permanent, full-time position, with a salary range of 70-90k, offering a hybrid model, and a competitive benefits and vacation package.
Our client is looking for someone with 4+ years of experience and a passion to want to exercise and grow their abilities as a Civil Designer. You appreciate the opportunities that come with working for a smaller company and will want to make a noticeable difference in an essential role that offers unlimited growth.
In this role, you will support the civil design component for a wide variety of projects. As a key member of the team and company, you will work together with staff and directly with clients on numerous active projects. You will work directly with corporate managers and owners and will have primarily technical and drafting responsibilities for projects that include:
- Site plan design for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments
- The design of linear infrastructure including private and municipal roadways conveying storm water, sanitary, watermains and utilities
- Multi-lot subdivision design
- Municipal infrastructure, urban drainage, and stormwater management
- Preparation of technical reports, approvals, specifications, and calculations
Experience, Education, Skills:
- Graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years experience, preferably in the consulting industry
- Professional Designation (P.Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is valued but not necessary
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be highly proficient using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads

- The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of municipal engineering and land development projects, focusing on CAD design and technical support. The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge preparing site plans, functional servicing reports and stormwater management and construction management reports.
- Extensive knowledge of local municipality standards, specifications,
- Preparation of CAD drawings for construction
- Extensive knowledge of municipal sewer design in accordance with local policies and procedures.
- Experience being the main point of contact
- Proficient in the analysis, design and design of water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer design, stormwater management and grading and drainage design.
- Construction experience is valued but not necessary
